Services
Individual Therapy
Following an initial intake appointment and mutual decision to begin treatment, I will typically meet with you on a regular basis (usually weekly or biweekly). Sessions are 50 minutes long.
The length of treatment can vary on the person, the therapeutic process, and the goals of therapy. Your time is valuable, and I encourage open communication so that we can monitor what is working and what is not working as you progress in therapy.
Play Therapy
Play is a form of communication. Through play, children express thoughts, feelings, and experiences. They learn about the world, try out new things, solve problems, and experiment with a sense of control.
Play “allows children to gain safe distance from sensitive, threatening, distasteful, or taboo issues, thereby reducing their anxiety and freeing them to express and recall what may otherwise be denied or unidentified in a verbal interview” (Gitlin-Weiner & Sangrund, 2000).
